"I can see the difference between our intelligence and yours. Ours is going to take over and yours is going to die"
A remake of the classic 60s BBC sci-fi drama - A for Andromeda - will be shown on BBC4 on Monday 27th March at 9pm.
In a storyline that vaguely fortends Carl Sagan's Contact - A for Andromeda opens with scientists receiving a signal from space that contains instructions for building a supercomputer. The computer then proceeds to learn as much as it can about the Earth and human society before building it's own human - Andromeda...
Kelly Reilly is Christine/Andromeda, Tom Hardy is John Fleming, Charlie Cox is Dennis Bridger, Jane Asher is Professor Madelaine Dawnay and David Haig is General Vandenberg.
Much of the original series has been lost but episode 6 (of 7) was recently discovered and returned to the BBC archives earlier this year.
The drama follows the successful live remake of The Quatermass Experiment shown on BBC 4 last year.
